SUSHI TYPES
Nigiri:

Hand pressed sushi rice topped with raw fish, or sometimes rolled omelette, cooked shrimp or smoked fish such as eel.

Gunkan:
​
Similar to nigiri sushi where rice is wrapped with a thick strip of nori seaweed which protrudes over the top so it can be filled with ingredients such as fish roe, oysters or even small slices of avocado.

Maki:
​
A type of sushi rolled with a bamboo mat. The rice is typically wrapped in seaweed, nori, and cut up. This type of sushi usually has only one filling.
Uramaki:
​
Uramaki has two or more fillings. Instead of being wrapped in nori seaweed, uramaki is inverted: rice on the outside and seaweed on the inside.
Sashimi:
​
Sashimi are slices of plain raw fish or meat. Some commonly used fish include salmon, sea bass and tuna.
