SUSHI FACTS
Fact 1:

Fugu, a pufferfish, contains a lethal amount of poison in its glands and organs. If the Chef wrongly scrapes it when preparing the sushi, it could kill the customer.

Fact 3:

Sushi is a good source of omega 3 fatty acids, calcium, iron and vitamin C. The nori seaweed also provides a good source of vitamin A and iodine.

Fact 2:
​
Sushi is only healthy when sticking to the basics - rice and seafood. Deep fried rolls with mayonnaise and similar dishes are not.
​

Fact 4:
​
Sour rice was used only to help in the process of creating Unami - the sour taste. This process also helped preserve the fish. After this process was complete, the rice was thrown away.
